Carlos Herrera, host of COPE, interviews Andrés Visús about deepfakes in photos, videos and audios using neural network algorithms, also known as Deep Learning.
Artificial Intelligence, especially in the form of Deep Fakes, poses significant challenges in terms of content authenticity. According to Andrés Visús in Herrera’s program, a specialist in the field of Artificial Intelligence, AI can currently recreate a Deep Fake with only 5 minutes of a voice, as well as detect cancer thanks to the large database that exist. This capacity that the new technologies accessible to the public, has led to legislation and regulation of the use of this technology to avoid unethical practices.
Andres ends by highlighting the efforts of companies such as Google or OpenAI, which are developing tools to detect forgeries. Meanwhile, the European Union advocates digital signatures on images and audios to verify authenticity, protecting people against the misuse of their public image and their prior detection so that each individual can reason about the credibility of the content.
