Round Table Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity

Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity

On October 28th we participated in the round table on Artificial Intelligence and Autmatization in Cybersecurity organized by Globb Security and moderated by Desireé Rodriguez.

Our head of business development at PredictLand Andrés Visús, together with Rafael Sánchez from Google and Santiago Hernandez expert in Architect Security, shared views and experiences on how Artificial Intelligence has completely changed the cybersecurity landscape.

Cyber attackers are evolving toward automation to launch more damaging attacks, while many organizations are still exploring manual efforts to combine internal security results and put them in context with external threat intelligence.

Daily attacks are measured in the hundreds of thousands or even millions, and with this volume it is impossible to keep track of them all.

Most cybersecurity solutions use signature or rule-based methodologies that require too much human intervention and specific knowledge. With such a large growth of cyber attacks, it is time to combine advanced data analytics and AI solutions with cybersecurity actions.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning have become critical technologies in information security, as they can quickly analyze millions of events and identify many different types of threats, from malware exploiting zero-day vulnerabilities to identifying risky behaviors that could lead to phishing, attack or malicious code download.

More and more companies are including advanced Artificial Intelligence capabilities in their solutions in order to increase threat detection accuracy.

Artificial Intelligence helps to collect and use data for greater efficiency, brings new opportunities to cybersecurity such as:

  1. Process automation and data management
  2. Understanding of what is happening, providing valuable information for decision making.
  3. Detection of anomalous behavior
  4. Classification and scoring of events and possible threats
  5. Direct action against threats

Artificial intelligence is not 100% invincible, but it is certain to play a key role in the defense strategy of companies, enabling them to be more prepared for imminent and upcoming cyber threats.

The technology is here and the time to invest in it is now.
